A day trip to Pawna lake

Last weekend we drove to Pawna lake and let me tell you we had a great time.. well, I love drives and I always make it about the drive more than the place..here are some highlights from the trip

So we started in the morning and took the trans harbour link which significantly cuts traffic and you reach the Mumbai- Pune expressway super quickly.. we took our first break at the food court near the lonavala toll gate.. a quick bite later we hit the road again. After crossing lonavala, there is this small exit that you have to take, do not miss it! We did and drove 13 km towards Pune, that was another adventure all together.. 😀

Anyway, the drive to Pawna through the ghats is really pretty. Close to nature, with winding roads through the hills. Pawna is a huge artificial lake and it is beautiful, calm, serene.. you could pack your own picnic basket to enjoy by the lake side. Plus there are small eateries on the way that serve decent food. Pawna has many of these glamping sites which offer food, drink, bonfire and small tents to spend the night by the lake side.. they are a cheap option and you might enjoy if you go in a very big group but the tents are not comfortable at all.. there are bigger hotels , guesthouses as well and they are better options if you spend the night there.
